From British Theatre.Com

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

AFTER MISSING THEIR NORMAL LONDON RESIDENCY LAST YEAR CIRQUE DU SOLEIL ARE RETURNING TO THE UK IN 2022 WITH NOT ONE BUT TWO SPECTACULAR SHOWS.

OPENS ROYAL ALBERT HALL
12 JANUARY 2022

Celebrating 25 years of Cirque Du Soleil at The Royal Albert Hall, the critically acclaimed LUZIA returns this January! Inspired by the people, places, and stories that define Mexico, Luzia takes you on a journey through a dream of Mexico, from the folklore of old to the urban landscape of today.

Luzia takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirit and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul. With a surrealistic series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, Luzia cleverly brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity.

UK TOUR STARTS JULY 2022

Corteo, the most enchanting of Cirque du Soleil’s arena productions is set to charm UK audiences for the very first time. A welcome addition to Cirque du Soleil’s 30th anniversary in the UK, the show will open on 13 July 2022 at the O2 before visiting Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, and Dublin. This unique production, directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, first premiered in Montreal under the Big Top in April 2005. Since then and including its transformation into an arena show in 2018, the show has amazed audiences of over 9 million people, in 20 countries, on 4 continents.

Corteo, which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.
