Six new potential symptoms of COVID-19 have been added to the list by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a move that is expected to increase the number of patients requiring to be tested.

Chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and a loss of taste or smell are among those added, according to USA Today.

Here is the complete list as of Sunday:

  • Fever.
  • Cough.
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
  • Chills.
  • Repeated shaking with chills.
  • Muscle pain.
  • Headache.
  • Sore throat.
  • New loss of taste or smell.

“People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness,” according to the CDC website. “These symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.”

There have been other reports of lesions on feet and gastrointestinal issues, such as diarrhea, but those are not official symptoms by the CDC.

Outside of being sought for contract tracing with a known COVID-19 positive patient, symptoms are the way doctors determine a coronavirus test is necessary. The added symptoms are likely to help states ramp up testing protocols in the Reopening America Again guidelines.

According to the CDC website, “If you develop any of these emergency warning signs for COVID-19 get medical attention immediately:

  • Trouble breathing.
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest.
  • New confusion or inability to arouse.
  • Bluish lips or face.”
