West Bay Man Arrested on Further Offences

On Wednesday 17 November, the 26-year-old-man of West Bay, who was previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder (see details below), has now been further arrested by the  police on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The arrest was as a result of new evidence found during the investigation of the West Bay Shooting incident that took place on 11 September. The man remains in custody at this time pending further investigations.

Second Arrest Made in Relation to Shedden Road – Canal Point Rd Shooting Incidents

On Wednesday 17 November, a George Town man, age 20, was arrested by the police on suspicion of possession of unlicensed firearm in relation to the below shooting incidents that took place on 11 October.

This is the second arrest that has been made in relation to these incidents, as a West Bay man was previously arrested and charged in relation to these incidents. (see details here<https://www.rcips.ky/west-bay-man-charged-in-relation-to-shooting-incidents-and-drug-related-offenses-15-october>)

The George Town man was later bailed and the investigations  are on-going.  Detectives continue to encourage anyone with information to call the Major Incident Room at 649-2930.

Incident on Elgin Avenue Involving Wanted Man

This afternoon, 18 November, while conducting proactive patrols in George Town, RCIPS firearms officers identified a wanted man near the Government Administration Building on Elgin Avenue.

The officers approached the man, who brandished a knife and threatened them.  In response, the officers drew their tasers and instructed the man to drop the knife.  However the man fled on foot before officers could detain him.  Officers pursued the man but lost sight of him in the vicinity of the passport office on Elgin Avenue.

No one was injured during the incident and the officers did not discharge any weapons.  No members of the public at the Government Administration Building were placed in danger by the wanted man.

Police are currently continuing to make attempts to locate the wanted man, but are not publicly circulating his identity at this time.
