Cayman: The latest news from the Doctors Hospital and Integra Healthcare Network

We hope you’ve had a healthy and positive start to 2025!
Welcome to February’s Round Up from Doctors Hospital, where we provide monthly updates from the team, insights into partnerships and upcoming launches as well as dates for your diary.

“In the summer we formally established our Department of Medicine bringing together internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, rheumatology, endocrinology and oncology. We formally launched on-call rosters for surgery, orthopaedics and trauma, medicine, and anaesthesia, as well as arranging continual support for gynaecology and paediatrics. The continual availability of care across many specialisms resulted in a 13.6% increase in elective and emergency attendances especially from patients seeking emergency care and referrals for imaging in radiology. During the year we brought a dozen new physicians into the Doctors Hospital and Integra team and on-boarded 17 more external surgeons. The hospital has retained the focus on improving quality governance. The credentials of all employed and privileged physicians were reviewed and validated. Each one participated in regular Professional Practice Evaluations to review their work with their Clinical Director. The Medical Staff Executive Committee was refreshed with a new Chair (Dr. Grant Rogers) and new members including the new Clinical Director for Emergency Medicine (Dr. Alison Beadsworth) and the lead for Morbidity Reviews (our neurologist Dr. Ryan Punambolam). 2025 promises much as we look to expand our capabilities in stroke services, intensive care, cosmetic surgery and gastroenterology. All of this underpinned by a rigorous approach to meeting patients’ expectations with our clinical effectiveness and quality of care.” |

After 21 incredible years of dedicated service, we celebrate Dr. Sidney Ebanks as he steps away from his role at Doctors Hospital (DH), retiring
