Police are investigating a report of a person impersonating Her Excellency the Governor Jane Owen on Facebook and in so doing contacting members of the public requesting money for various reasons.

The contact is being made through Facebook Messenger using the fake Facebook Profile under the name Jane Owen with the tagline “Let make Cayman Island Great”.

This activity is a scam and if you have been contacted via Facebook Messenger by someone purporting to be Her Excellency the Governor Jane Owen and requesting money or any other information do not engage with the person but instead report the matter to the RCIPS Financial Crimes Unit during business hours at 949-8797.
