Another successful book signing event took place at Fidelity Bank, courtesy of CEO Brett Hill and Business Development Manager Jim McLean. On this occasion it was to celebrate the book launch of Renata Kecskes, entitled ‘Running for Safety’.

Renata who is well known for her charitable work for supplying shoes for children in East Africa and Haiti, is also a fully qualified bodyguard in three countries. She has taken up the cause of protecting women against violence, the subject of her book. It is not only in the Cayman Islands, but in Rwanda and Zambia where she has empowered girls and women with situation awareness.

With an open forum Renata discussed the subject with Sam Oakley, herself the author of ‘Wreck of the Ten Sails” a book, now part of all Government school’s curriculums, and well known for her appearance on both the BBC and ITV. An interesting aspect of Renata’s talk uncovers her training in Russia utilizing fighting style used by the Russian Special Forces. Her recommendation on self-protection were well received.

As Master of Ceremonies Chris Johnson kept the audience amused, dressed in his resplendent martial arts uniform but unimpressive with his judo skills, whilst the culinary aspect was well taken care of by Southern Spice and an enjoyable evening was had by all.

Running for Safety can be acquired from the Next Chapter bookstore at Camana Bay and from Renata at Luca.
