Cayman: Post office advises mail may be inbound by courier
The Cayman Islands Postal Service (CIPS) advises customers that throughout the month of April, some mail normally received by CIPS was instead sent to the Islands via courier.
Noting that CIPS received no items from overseas in April, officials suggest that customers review any electronic tracking records that show activity in the Cayman Islands in April. Where the activity record shows “gateway hold” or “turned over to broker” customers should carefully check for a courier tracking number.
If emails display a courier number, customers should contact the courier immediately, as they may be waiting for the addressee to provide an invoice that will allow the agency to clear the item.
I do hope the post office is prepared to initially store and then sort out 2/3 months of regular overseas mail. My bet is they are not geared up. They need now to recruit additional Caymanian employees to help out.
