In just a few days Muddy Mayhem will arrive on the shores of the Cayman Islands. The organisers of the Pirates Week National Festival are busy with fundraising efforts this year and they have yet another new and exciting event in store. Introducing the first annual Pirates Trail Mud Run and Obstacle Course, this event will assist with realizing the festival’s fundraising mandate while introducing a one of a kind family fun event for the first time ever here in the Cayman Islands.

The Pirates Trail Mud Run will be the most bizarre, most thrilling, and by far, the grubbiest event in the Cayman Islands.   Join hundreds of wacky-racers as you run, crawl, climb or even belly-flop your way through miles of mud-pits, bog-holes and puddles oozing with thick, gooey muck. The Pirate’s Trail Mud Run is for everyone; adults and children – you can run or even walk the entire course while dressed in your not so favorite pirate gear.

The event will be held off Sparky’s Drive (next to CUC) across from Cayman Distributors (Blue Lagoon Drive). The main Adult 5K Mud Run and Obstacle Course is designed to challenge from the weekend warrior to the seasoned athlete and is divided into four categories consisting of: competitive individuals, competitive teams, non-competitive individuals, and non-competitive teams. For adult (age 15 and over) registration is only $120 for teams of 4 and $40 for individuals.

Kids will also have opportunity to challenge themselves while splashing in the mud with a more simplified course designed just for children. Age groups for kids range from 5-9 and 10-14 and registration is only $15. Post-race activities include: food, drinks, and music– its hours of entertaining family fun.

“A mud run is an amazing way for the community to do something fun and challenging while raising funds for a great cause,” says Executive Director, Melanie McField. “Our focus is to maximize fund-raising efforts while introducing unique events to the Cayman Islands.”
