UPDATE: Man Charged with GBH and Other Offences In Relation to George Town Assault, 27 November

A 58-year-old-man of George Town was arrested in relation to the below matter on Sunday, 24 November, on suspicion of assault GBH, and possession of an offensive weapon. 

The man has since been charged with Assault GBH and two (2) counts of Possession of an Offensive Weapon. He is expected to attend court this morning 27 November. 

The victim in the matter is now stable and his injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.

Just after 8:15AM yesterday morning, 21 November, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre, to a report of an assault involving weapons that was in progress on School Road, George Town.

It is believed that two men were engaged in an altercation which led to one of the men being struck in the head with an object several times, causing him severe injury. He was transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

The injured man is believed to be in critical condition and is still undergoing treatment.

Detectives are seeking the assistance of witnesses present during the time of the altercation to come forward and speak with them.  Anyone with information on her whereabouts is encouraged to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
