NOW ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS!

Deadline for entries:
5PM Wednesday, April 13th, 2016

THE COMPETITION

Do you dream of becoming a screenwriter, producer or director? Do you love storytelling using moving images and have a story you feel is worth sharing with everyone? If you have been working on your own short videos or have an idea that you’re bringing to life right now, we invite you to take part in the annual Young Image Makers (YIM) Short Film Competition.

From now until April 13th, students across the Cayman Islands ages 10 – 17 may register and submit short films 1 – 3 minutes in length for a chance to work with local film and television professionals. Students who are selected in the preliminary round of YIM will take part in a special workshop and then go on to compete for a New York Film Academy Summer Movie Camp experience in NYC!

We want to see your funniest, scariest and most thought-provoking short films and music videos. The entry form can be downloaded on our website www.artscayman.org/young-image-makers.

PRIZES

Grand prizes include a one-week Movie Camp experience at the New York Film Academy for the winner in each age group (one child from the 10 – 13 year old Junior Category & one child from the 14 – 17 year old Senior Category). Runners up will each receive a fantastic CNCF prize pack. Finalists’ films are also uploaded to a dedicated website where the public can view and vote on films to determine the People’s Choice Award. The school with the highest number of SELECTED entries will also be recognised. All winners are announced at the YIM Red Carpet Premiere on June 30th, during CayFilm.

For more information on the YIM Competition, past winners, the prize pack and advanced filmmaking workshops for youth, visit www.artscayman.org/young-image-makers or call 949-5477. We’re looking forward to seeing your work in the 2016 YIM Short FIlm Competition!
