Water-related Death Yesterday, 9 March, in George Town

Yesterday, 9 March, just before 11:30AM, police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a person in distress near Eden Rock in George Town.  A 71-year-old woman who was visiting in the island had encountered difficulties while snorkeling.

EMS personnel performed CPR on the woman and transported her to the Cayman Islands hospital where she was pronounced dead just after noon.

The woman was from the United States.
