Cayman Islands: Traffic Operation in Bodden Town Tuesday, 12 July, yields two arrests and eleven traffic prosecutions

Yesterday, 12 July, around 10AM uniform officers conducted a proactive traffic operation on Bodden Town Road. During the course of the operation officers stopped a white Honda Civic for excessive window tinting. Due to suspicious behavior by the occupants a search was conducted, during which a quantity of vegetable matter resembling ganja and a machete were found.

A man, age 24, of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of Possession and Consumption of Ganja, and the driver, a woman, age 36, of West Bay, was arrested for Possession and Consumption of Ganja as well as Possession of an Offensive Weapon.

In addition to these arrests officers issued citations for eleven traffic offences.

“Proactive operations will continue throughout the Eastern Districts focusing on traffic misdemeanors and criminal activities, we would like to thank the public for its cooperation and assistance with our efforts,” said Inspector Dwayne Jones, Deputy Commander for the Eastern Districts.
