Cayman Islands: The Zak Quappe Scholarship Fund donates to Clifton Hunter Flight club

image002The Zak Quappe Flight Scholarship (“ZQFS”) made a donation in the amount of Cl $2,500 to the Cayman Airways Flight Club (Clifton Hunter High School Chapter). The CHHS Flight Club will be sending 11 boys and 8 girls to the Florida Institute of Technology’s week long summer flight camp at the end of June. Pictured below outside Island Air, a contributor to the scholarship fund is ZQFS committee member Barrie Quappe, flight camp participants Kassandra Mattocks and Christopher Scott and CHHS Flight Club Director Alfred C. Gordon. Mr. Gordon indicated that the flight club’s key objectives are to get students motivated and interested in the field of aviation, promote discipline while mentoring students on career choices in aviation. ZQFS is one of many Cayman Islands business sponsors of this year’s flight camp program. If you would like to further assist the CHHS Flight Club, contact Mr. Gordon at the Clifton Hunter High School at [email protected].

The ZQFS, which is separate from the CHHS flight club, is a scholarship program set up to assist young Caymanians in their dreams in becoming pilots. Since the scholarship was created, the scholarship sponsored one such individual in achieving this dream and they view this current donation to the CHHS Flight Club as a perfect vehicle in which to utilized scholarship funds. Those who would like further information on the ZQFS scholarship program may contact committee members [email protected] or [email protected].
