Cayman Islands: Sunrise Centre Holds Annual Spring Concert

Pic 1Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands – The Sunrise Adult Training Centre is putting on its annual free spring concert on Wednesday, 18 May at the Harquail Theatre. This year, the clients from the Centre will be presenting “Mummeh Mia: The Barcadere Beckons”, their version of the hit Broadway musical and movie Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! was chosen by our clients and staff in a very democratic way – secret ballot – which gave us an opportunity to incorporate the polling process in the exercise,” explained Acting Director Kim Voaden. “Our clients have a wonderful flair for the dramatic, and love great music, so Mamma Mia! definitely fits the bill. As always, we have made the script our own, and I hope the public will come out and enjoy what is sure to be a very entertaining evening.”

Voaden said the play will be set at “Sunrise Condos” in Grand Cayman, and is the story of a bride-to-be and her friends and family in the run up to her very big day. The 30 -strong cast is made up of clients ranging in ages from 22 – 55 years old with the lead roles being played by Krysten Pic 2Martin (Sophie), Harris Egbert (Skye), Gabriella Terry (Donna) and Anthony Bodden (Sam).

“Expect singing, dancing, a beautiful wedding, and surprises galore!”

Admission is free but donations are welcomed and refreshments and crafts will be on sale.
