Cayman Islands: Second annual AICPA Summit promises insight and inspiration

TEDx alum, four-time Hawaii Ironman triathlete, and Girls on the Run Founder Molly Barker is coming to Cayman for the 2nd annual AICPA CIIPA Summit. AICPA partnered with CIIPA for the inaugural summit in 2017 to provide professional development for both the private and public sectors.

This year brings together more than 200 delegates and presenters from Cayman, Barbados, Bahamas, the UK, Canada, and the United States, for two days of networking, global insights, trends, and a heavy dose of inspiration. Presenters include AICPA Chair, Eric Hansen, Bloomberg TV regular Joe Brusuelas, IFAC Past President Olivia Kirtley, and IBM Executive Jim Collins.

Sessions range from cyber security with Deloitte Cyber Risk expert Andres Gil, to developing emotional intelligence (EQ) with author Jennifer Shirkani. Past President of Cayman Islands Society of Human Resource Professionals, Chris Bailey talks staff retention and engagement, while CPA Joseph Rugger shares how to get to ‘yes’ in negotiations.

Six concurrent sessions were developed for those working in the public sector and includes technical updates, leadership, and results-driven management. Finance and Economic Development Minister, Hon. Roy McTaggart will give an update on the local economy, with Deputy Governor Franz Manderson providing opening remarks.
