Over the last few days, Hurricane Matthew has wreaked havoc through the Caribbean and Florida. Many organizations on island, and around the world, are working to send relief to the affected countries.

Two local groups are working quickly to send both financial and tangible aid to those affected
– the Cayman Islands Red Cross whose efforts will help the wider affected Caribbean and joint efforts between the Cayman Islands Brewery, Saxon Grand Cayman, and the Cayman Islands Government whose efforts will benefit those affected in Haiti.

Caybrew, Saxon, and the Cayman Islands Government are working with the Salvation Army, US Aid, Operation Blessing Haiti, and missionaries currently in Haiti to gather, send, and disperse aid to those in need.

Foster’s IGA asks customers to donate their change, or any amount, at the register between now and Saturday, October 15th to aid these groups. Foster’s will, on top of customer donations, make a donation of $10,000 towards the relief efforts. All donations made towards the Hurricane Matthew Relief will be split equally between the two previously mentioned efforts. Any relief items purchased from Foster’s by these two groups will receive a further25% discount.

Foster’s IGA, in conjunction with the groups mentioned above, urge the community who wish to offer aid, to do so through monetary donations at any Foster’s IGA, Priced Right, or Bay Market location.

“We are saddened by the loss and destruction in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. We ask that the Cayman Islands come together to support those affected, and keep those still in the hurricane’s path in your thoughts.” – Julian Foster, Foster’s IGA Marketing Sr. Manager.
