Cayman Islands Red Bay Primary Library gets a makeover

This past weekend, dedicated volunteers from Prospect Community Group (PCG) gave the school library a facelift, and had fun doing so.

On Saturday 26 August, 2017, volunteers from the Prospect Community gave up theirSaturday to lend a hand at the RBPS Library Rejuvenation Project. Efforts included cleaning, organizing and repainting the entire space in one day.

Organiser and PCG Executive member Kara Coe reiterated her support stating that “It was a great way to give back to the community, and thanks go out to all of those who took time out of their busy weekend to assist.”

Special thanks go to Sabrina Turner, PCG Leader, Mark Rickman, PCG Deputy Leader, Joel Francis, RCIPS PC Donaldson, and Chanda Glidden for their contributions. And to  Ms. Gloria Bell from the Department of Education Services and the Red Bay Primary School’s principal Ms. Vikie Fredreck for allowing us to help.

Although the hard work is complete, the group is asking for donations of books, cushions, and rugs to make the space more vibrant and appealing to the students.

For more information on how to donate or join, please e-mail[email protected], and for updates on upcoming events, follow their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/prospectcommunity345/

The Prospect Community group meets on the first Monday of every month at the Seafarer’s Hall. Our next meeting is on 4th September, come out and make a difference.
