Cayman Islands Premier, Deputy Premier tour hotel construction site

Screen Shot 2015-01-19 at 4.17.39 PM Screen Shot 2015-01-19 at 4.17.50 PMGRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands – Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin and Deputy Premier Hon. Moses Kirkconnell toured the construction site of Seven Mile Beach Hotel Wednesday (14) afternoon.

The hotel, which is being developed by Dart Realty, is a more than $240 million construction project and is expected to open next year.

Mr. McLaughlin and Mr. Kirkconnell, along with staff from the Ministry of Tourism, the Premier’s office and Dart, walked through the site and took in the views of the sea and the Cayman Islands Yacht Club from the sixth floor.

The 11-acre site has 475 feet of frontage along Seven Mile Beach. The main hotel building is perpendicular to the beach with the westernmost rooms situated 240 feet from the high water mark while the condominium building is nearly 500 feet back. The site will also offer six beachfront bungalows as well as other amenities.
