RCIPS Withdraws Notification of Wanted Person Martin Trench

The RCIPS would like to inform the public that it has been confirmed that Martin Anthony Trench, age 31, is not in the Cayman Islands at this time. We request that media withdraw our previous notice (released on 27 February) of him as a wanted person.

Cayman Islands: RCIPS requests public assistance to locate wanted man

The RCIPS has learned of a man believed to be in the jurisdiction illegally who is potentially armed and dangerous. Martin Anthony Trench, age 31, of , is believed to have arrived on Grand Cayman recently. His picture is attached.

If sighted, members of the public should exercise caution and contact police or 9-1-1 immediately.

EDITOR NOTE: Previous to this Withdrawal Notice Loop Cayman had reported twice they had been contacted by family members who had informed them Martin Trench was not in the Cayman Islands.

Their second article under the title “Trench mum but family members furious at RCIPS” said:

“A second family member has come forward in support of Martin Trench, noting that he is not in the Cayman Islands.

“The relative went on to slam the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service who they accused of putting out unverified information into the public domain.

‘”It is not fair for people to scandal people,” said the relative.

‘”They need to get their facts straight before they put things out there,” added the relative.

“According to the family member, Trench is in Hanover, Jamaica.”
