Foster’s Food Fair-IGA would like to announce that Inventure Foods, Inc. has issued a voluntarily recall on certain varieties of its Fresh Frozen line of frozen vegetable as well as select varieties of its Jamba “At Home” line of smoothie kits due to finding of Listeria monocytogenes, in its Jefferson, GA facility. Please see attached Inventure Foods, Inc. Official Press Release including a full list of recalled product.

 

These recalled products did not test positive for Listeria Monocytogenes, and there are no known illnesses linked to the consumption of Fresh Frozen IQF frozen vegetables or Jamba “At Home” smoothies to date. However, Inventure Foods has decided to err on the side of utmost caution and issue a voluntary recall because Listeria monocytogenes was detected in the facility during routine testing. To date there have been no confirmed illnesses linked to the consumption of these products.

 

Fosters Food Fair-IGA, Priced Right locations as well as Bay Market only have a few of the items on the recall list – see attached.

 

Listeria, can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

 

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, the safety of our customers is our top priority. We encourage all customers who have purchased this product from any of our Foster’s Food Fair-IGA locations, Priced Right locations or Bay Market location to return the affected product for a full refund. Please, do not consume the recalled product.
