Arrest in Firearm Incident on Sunburst Lane

A man taken into custody at the scene of a firearm incident on Sunburst Lane last Saturday morning has been arrested for attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and aggravated burglary. The man, 23, from West Bay, suffered stab wounds to the chest and head during the incident. He is currently hospitalized in George Town Hospital under police guard. His condition is described as critical but stable.

Charges in Unlicensed Firearm incident in Bodden Town

Three persons arrested last Saturday night after a traffic stop were charged today.

One man, age 28, from West Bay, was charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm;

A second man, age 21, from Bodden Town, was charged with possession of ganja with intent to supply and possession of an unlicensed firearm. A search of his home after his arrest recovered vegetable matter resembling ganja;

And a woman, age 26, from Bodden Town, was charged with possession of ganja with intent to supply, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and accessory after the fact to possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The accused persons will appear in court later today.

A fourth passenger in the vehicle, a man, age 45, from Bodden Town, has been bailed to return to the George Town Police Station pending further investigation.

Sun, Jul 5, 2015 at 11:45 AM – Firearm Arrests in Bodden Town

On the 7 /4/15 around 0118 hrs Officers of the USG conducted a Traffic Stop of a vehicle in Bodden Town. As a result of the Stop a Hand Gun and Ganja was recovered . Three males and one female were arrested. All remain in Custody pending investigations.

Sun, Jul 5, 2015 at 11:18 AM – Robbery on Venice Bodden Drive, Bodden Town

On the 7/3/15 around 11:20 pm, 911 received a report of a Robbery along Venice Bodden Drive, Bodden Town.

The victim reported that he had been held up by two men on foot who were both armed with handguns.

The assailants attempted to force the victim into his home, but he resisted and was struck in the head and received a minor injury.

A quantity of cash was taken from the victim, who refused medical treatment.

The assailants were described as being 6 ft and 5 ft 8 in, both were dressed in dark clothing, slim built and spoke with Jamaican accents.

Both men fled the scene on foot.

Sun, Jul 5, 2015 at 11:18 AM – House Fire Monument Road, Bodden Town

On the 7 /4/15 around 22:21 hrs 911 received a report of a House Fire on Monument Road , Bodden Town.

The fire was brought under control by the Fire Service. There were no injuries resulting from the Fire.

At the time of the fire an 84 year old tenant was at the residence, but was able to exit safely. He was examined by the EMT and found to be in good health.

The residence received extensive damage.

Investigations into the cause of the Fire are continuing.

Sun, Jul 5, 2015 at 9:41 AM – Firearm Incident on Sunburst Lane, West Bay

On the 4/7/15 around 05:54 hrs., 911 received a report of Shots being fired at Sunburst Lane, West Bay.

On the arrival of the Police, a male was found on the scene suffering from stab wounds to the chest and head. The male was transported to the Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

An extensive search of the scene was conducted and a handgun was recovered.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing by the West Bay CID.
