Cayman Islands: Final “Rundown” to aid cast member

George JonesThere is one more chance to see “Rundown” in Grand Cayman. A special and final showing of the play will take place on Friday 10 June.

Net proceeds from the production will be given to music composer, and former cast member George Jones, who underwent a kidney transplant close to three months ago.

Mr. Jones, a well-known performer, has faced many years of medical challenges. A survivor of colon cancer, he was on dialysis for four years due to chronic kidney failure. He beat the odds and received a kidney transplant.

He is currently living in a temporary residence close to the hospital where he received the transplant, in Florida. Funds raised from the special production of “Rundown” will be donated to a special Go Fund Me webpage created on Mr. Jones’ behalf. Money raised from the production and other donors will aid his recovery and cover basic daily living, medical and miscellaneous expenses.

“Rundown”, now in its 24th year, highlights the latest happenings in the Cayman Islands and features a talented cast of performers mimicking the newsmakers of the day.

Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets cost of $25 for adults, $15 for seniors and children under the age of 12.

Persons may reserve tickets by calling 949-5477, or purchase online at www.artscayman.org/rundown or from the Harquail Theatre box office in Grand Cayman.
