TEDxUCCI: FutureVision Calls for Speakers

2016 is off to a flying start for the University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) as the campus prepares for TEDxUCCI: FutureVision slated for March 19. The organisers continue to seek speakers who have an idea about the future that’s worth sharing with the local community as well as with an international audience.

“We are looking for people from ALL disciplines: thought leaders, visionaries, artists, inventors, hobbyists and adventurers who will provide a glimpse of what the future might hold for us all. Those chosen will take to the TEDxUCCI stage to express their “FutureVision” in 18 minutes or less,” said Dr. JD Mosley-Matchett, UCCI’s Dean of Graduate Studies and Professional Education and TEDxUCCI’s event curator.

TEDxUCCI: FutureVision, the second of its kind to be hosted by UCCI, will explore a variety of topics such as:

• Arts
– Future of animation/ filmmaking
– Bridging generation gaps through music/art
– The power of storytelling in preserving the legacy of the past

• Social science
– How social media is shaping our future
– Millenials and their role in mapping the future

• Government
– Towards a sustainable future for Cayman
– Grooming today’s youth as leaders of tomorrow

• Philosophical
– My philosophy in the Digital Age
– Immortality: Preserving Your Heritage

• Business
-Harnessing the Power of Artificial Intelligence

“So please consider this a personal invitation for all oral, visual, demonstrable, and kinesthetic (but definitely INTERESTING) presenters to apply to be featured at the March 19th TEDxUCCI event,” Dr. Mosley-Matchett said.
