Cayman Islands: Arrests made in connection with incident on Walkers Road, 16 November

Just before 2:30AM today, Thursday, 16 November, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a disturbance involving damage to property at a gas station off Walkers Road in .

When the police arrived some of the individuals involved left the location in a white ,  the vehicle was subsequently stopped and searched and a loaded magazine was recovered.  Whilst the vehicle was being searched the driver fled the location on foot; he is still wanted by the police for questioning.

The two passengers, a man aged 23 and a woman aged 36, both of George Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and damage to property. They remain in police custody.

The vehicle was later forensically examined and a handgun was recovered.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward and anyone with information is encouraged to callGeorge Town Police Station at 949-4222.
