Cayman Islands armed robbery GT

At 6:36pm Wednesday 8th October 2014, police in George Town received a report from a male, that he had been robbed by two mask men with hand guns. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Globe Bar on Martin Drive, off Shedden Road.

The complainant alleged he had been struck by one of the mask men on the forehead with the butt of one of the guns during the robbery. Cash was stolen before the mask men made their escape through a bushy area nearby.

According to a police spokesperson, this incident appears to be a targeted attack from gambling.

The matter is being investigated by detectives from the George Town Criminal Investigation Department.
