“Cayman Heat” Murder in the Cayman Islands

Connie Reeves Cooke is just back from New York where she introduced her second novel, Cayman Heat, at Book Expo America and Blogworld New Media Expo. Following that soft launch of the riveting page-turner (yes, I’ve read it), Connie hits the big-time soon with several network shows interested in interviewing her and with discussions already in the works on a possible movie deal.

Special book reviewer for the Los Angeles Times Jenny Tate has said, “What a Thrill Ride! Cooke’s Cayman Heat is sure to be one of this year’s bestsellers and must read murder mystery for 2012.”

Los Angeles-based publicist and former Houstonian Miranda Spigener, handling Connie’s latest tome, says that there are three celebrity-driven production companies considering the book for a possible movie. And while Cayman Heat was published by Rose Dog Books, several big-name publishers are entertaining talks with a contract for a sequel and a possible series of future books.

And what is Cayman Heat about?

Multi-millionaire Houston attorney Reese Mallory and his wife, Lynn, had all of that and much more. But when they and their four best friends decide to take a spur of the moment trip to the Mallory’s palatial Grand Cayman home, no one could have imagined that Reese would mysteriously disappear on the group’s scuba diving trip to Cayman’s famed and dangerous North Wall.

Two years later, Reese’s scuba gear-clad skeletal remains are found tied to a piece of coral deep in an underwater cave on the North Wall. Within days of the grisly discovery, bodies begin turning up on the island after the news is released that Reese didn’t just disappear… he was murdered.

Grand Cayman’s hottest expat private investigator, Koral Sanders, is called into the investigation by her good friend, Royal Caymanian Police Chief Aron Ebanks, to help track down the killer. Koral’s life spirals down an explosive and deadly trail of greed, deception, adultery, and big Texas money from Houston to Grand Cayman to find out who wanted Reese Mallory dead and why.
