Cayman: Elections Office completes final prep

Grand Cayman (GIS) – His Excellency the Governor, Mr. Martyn Roper, today (Tuesday, 13 April 2021) lauded the election staff for their hard work gearing up to the General Election tomorrow.

The Governor was attending the final meeting of election staff at the John Gray High School Auditorium to check all their preparations are in order prior to moving into polling stations tomorrow.

Thanking them for all their dedicated efforts so far to ensure that the elections run smoothly, the Governor said, “Your work will ensure that the Cayman Islands maintains its reputation for conducting free, fair and impartial elections.”

He also urged all electors to go out and vote to have their voices heard.

The Governor met and chatted with election workers at their stations in the auditorium.

Election Supervisor Mr. Wesley Howell and Deputy Election Supervisor, Ms Sheena Glasgow urged the team to continue their diligent work.

Following the meeting, the teams also visited their polling stations to ensure that all is in order for the opening of voting from 7 am tomorrow, which will continue unabated until 6 pm. After that, counting will begin which will culminate in the announcing of the successful candidate in each electoral district.

The election results will be announced by Elections HQ located at the Government Administration Building on Elgin Avenue.
