Cayman Elections 2025: Domestic Observers Release Preliminary Statement

The Domestic Election and Referendum Observer Mission has produced a preliminary statement on their observations of the 2025 General Election and Referendum. This report reflects the preliminary findings and observations from their appointment on 8 April, up to election and referendum day, 30 April.

The team observed the entire electoral period including advanced voting, election and referendum day, counting of ballots, ensuring that all aspects of the election were conducted in a transparent and fair manner and offering an independent view on the integrity of the process. Head of the Mission, Deborah Ebanks said, “This report offers an honest assessment of the election process, with a focus on both the successes and the areas where improvements can be made.”

The findings, which highlight the efficiency and professionalism displayed by election officials at the majority of polling stations can be viewed here.

A final and comprehensive report will be published at a later day in accordance with the Terms of References for the Domestic Election and Referendum Observation Mission.
