Cayman: COVID-19 Update Friday, 14 January 2022, 488 NEW Positives [13 in Sister Islands], 2,427 probable Omicron

Grand Cayman – A 15th person has passed away from COVID-19 related causes public health officials announced today.

Chief Medical Officer (Interim) Dr. Autilia Newton also reported 488 new positive PCR tests for COVID-19. 

While the number of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant in the Cayman Islands remains at 132, the number of probable Omicron cases reached 2,427 during the reporting period. 

Eight COVID-19 patients were hospitalised in the Cayman Islands as at midnight on Friday, 13 January. One new in-patient was included in this number.

Meanwhile 13 new cases of COVID were reported in the Sister Islands.
