Cayman: CDS: The Importance Of Being A Socially-Distanced Earnest FREE STREAMING!

FREE THEATRE STREAMING: The Importance Of Being A Socially-Distanced Earnest

In honour of our 50th anniversary celebrations we have created a read-through online version of one of our past productions, The Importance Of Being Earnest.

During the covid-19 lockdown we asked some of our actors-in-training if they would mind donating their time to record a read-through of Oscar Wilde’s hilarious classic, The Importance Of Being Earnest. They battled with disconnecting internet, out-of-sync audio, and two full attempts before we got a recording together! There was no rehearsal period, just a once-through with notes, and then our first attempt (which was unusable due to sound quality and interference) but with patience and a smile they agreed to try again. Here is their hard work and talents captured on-screen for your enjoyment.

Thank you to all the actors who took the time to give a socially-distanced performance of sorts, their hard work and talent has shone through once again.

This will be premiered on our Facebook page at 7pm on Thursday 25th June so had on over and enjoy!

If you do not have Facebook, you can also watch it by clicking here.

PHOTO COMPETITION!

Paul, Kirsty, and Sheree got to go back in and check the theatre was still standing – it is, hoorah! While we do some minor changes to make it as safe as can be amid the covid-19 restrictions, and some work to do our usual summer maintenance, we need some help from you. We are looking to flesh our our photo archives to celebrate the last fifty years and we need two things:

1 – Your backstage and production pictures (3-4 per show) that we might not have for any of our shows over the last fifty years. We need a variety so full cast pics are great, or a mixture of characters rather than just several of the leads only 😉
2 – Pictures of the various sets. If you have ever sat in the audience and snapped a set pic, or worked as crew/cast and taken any, we are looking for FULL SETS (so showing the whole stage in one picture) as examples for our tech training courses with schools.

We will post our favourite flashbacks on social media, and you will help us building our archives and training materials by doing so. Email them to[email protected]

Stay safe, Cayman!
