George Town, Grand Cayman – 25 June 2025 — The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce hosted another unforgettable edition of its signature networking event, Business After Hours, this time in partnership with one of its newest and most dynamic members—Sandbank Capital. Held at the striking Crown Square, the newest acquisition of the company, the evening was a celebration of innovation, investment, and community.

Sandbank’s  Managing Director, Shaun Myers.

The event brought together a vibrant mix of Chamber members, business leaders, and guests who mingled over refreshments, laughter, and lively conversation. Crown Square buzzed with energy, ideas, and the unmistakable spirit of Caymanian enterprise.

Celebrating 60 Years of Business Leadership

In her welcome address, Past President Joanne Lawson reflected on the Chamber’s 60-year legacy of supporting Cayman’s business community.

Networking – and catching up with friends at Business After Hours

“Tonight, we’re not just networking; we’re making history,” Lawson said. “We’re celebrating six decades of championing Cayman’s business community, especially our small businesses, which remain the backbone of our economy.”

She also highlighted the significance of the venue, calling Crown Square “a striking and symbolic space representing bold ambition and strategic vision.”

Sandbank Capital: A New Force in Real Estate Investment

The evening marked Sandbank Capital’s debut as a Business After Hours host—and they made a powerful impression. As Joanne Lawson noted:

“Sandbank isn’t just hosting tonight’s event—they own the venue where we stand. That’s a strong opening statement and a clear reflection of who they are: confident, forward-thinking, and deeply invested in Cayman’s future.”

Sandbanks’ Managing Director, Shaun Myers, shared the firm’s compelling story and ambitious vision. With over 75 years of combined professional experience—including more than 20 years in real estate investment—Sandbank Capital is redefining how real estate investment works in the region.

“We’re a dynamic group with deep expertise across finance, legal, and strategic development,” Myers said. “We’ve invested in Costa Rica, Florida, and right here in Cayman.”

Their most recent acquisition, Crown Square, is a testament to their strategy: acquire high-potential properties, enhance them through physical improvements and efficient management, and unlock long-term value.

A Smarter Way to Invest

Sandbank Capital’s investment model is designed to be both accessible and intelligent. Their approach includes:

  • Passive Income, Active Returns – Investors receive up to 80% of profits, paid quarterly, without the burden of property management.
  • Security You Can See – Every investment is backed by tangible, income-generating assets.
  • Tech-Driven Intelligence – Leveraging AI and data analytics to identify and manage high-potential properties.
  • Cayman-Focused Growth – A portfolio aligned with the evolving needs of the Cayman Islands, from offices to warehouses to hotels.

Myers extended an invitation to attendees to become preferred equity financiers, offering fixed returns and quarterly dividends.

“Our target is US$100 million in assets under management within five years,” he said. “That translates to approximately US$10 million annually in rental income and capital gains.”

A Night to Remember

Making connections at Business After Hours

As guests enjoyed the evening, sipped cocktails, and engaged with the Sandbank team, the atmosphere was one of optimism and opportunity. This is exactly what Business After Hours is all about: building relationships, sharing ideas, and discovering new possibilities.

“Let’s raise a glass to strong partnerships, bold ideas, and the incredible things that happen when we come together,” Lawson concluded.

The Chamber extends its heartfelt thanks to Sandbank Capital for hosting such a memorable evening and for their commitment to shaping Cayman’s economic future.
