Carey Olsen recognised by ‘Best Companies’ 2014

John KelleherOffshore firm Carey Olsen, which has offices in the Cayman Islands, has achieved the Best Companies’ One Star Status in the 2014 annual engagement survey on their first application.

Carey Olsen, with offices in the British Virgin Islands, Cape Town, Guernsey, Jersey and London as well as the Cayman Islands, is the only offshore firm to achieve this status and joins 16 accredited UK legal sector firms in the prestigious list.

Best Companies is the workplace engagement specialist associated with the annual publication of ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’. Its annual survey attracts entries from organisations of all sizes throughout the UK, as well as a large number of global businesses which have a significant British presence.

Employees in Carey Olsen’s Guernsey, Jersey and London offices were invited to participate in the Best Companies’ engagement survey which assesses eight employee engagement factors: ‘leadership’, ‘my manager’, ‘my team’, ‘personal growth’, ‘giving something back’, ‘well-being’ and ‘fair deal’.

Using the survey results, accreditation is based on the Best Companies’ index score with entrant companies ranked using a score of between 1-1,000 points.  Following the results of the survey, each participating company is banded in a ‘not rated’, ‘one to watch’, ‘one star’, ‘two star’ or ‘three star’ category.

Carey Olsen chairman, John Kelleher, commented: “We congratulate all of the firms who have achieved accreditation this year and those that are featured in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies’ listing.  Given that this is our first year of entering, the result is particularly pleasing for Carey Olsen.  Ensuring that Carey Olsen provides our employees with an enjoyable and productive working environment is hugely important to maintaining the best standards of client service. We look forward to developing our position in future years.

“It is accepted that there is a notable correlation between employee engagement and business success. Given Carey Olsen’s on-going expansion, our people are clearly playing an active part in delivering that growth.”
