A car that crashed into a CUC pole on the stretch of Esterley Tibbetts Highway, between George Town and Camana Bay early  Friday morning caused severe traffic jams for several hours as CUC workers put in another pole.

A worker at the site of the accident said: “The pole was cut into three pieces.”

A nearby resident said he heard the accident take place. “It was a single car accident, he lost control and fishtailed into the pole and went into the bush. It took them a while to get him out,” he said.
