Calling all Cayman Islands fish fry vendors

Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) Announces Call for Fish Fry Vendors for Gimistory 2017

For priority consideration, prospective vendors should submit applications by deadline 6 November 2017

Local ‘Fish Fry’ vendors with experience serving high volumes of customers efficiently are welcome to submit applications to participate in the ‘2017 Gimistory District Fish Fry Competition’. Since 1998, CNCF has presented the Cayman Islands International Storytelling Festival – Gimistory. Gimistory takes place in each district on Grand Cayman and one night in Cayman Brac, attracting up to 300 attendees nightly to the FREE, weeklong festival.

In keeping with the CNCF’s overarching focus on the arts, culture, and heritage of the Cayman Islands, the festival invites local cooks with proven experience in preparing and serving traditional Caymanian fried fish and fritters. Programmes Manager, Patrice Beersingh, explained “Our goal is to give festival goers the opportunity to experience a local culinary delight and to celebrate the best local cooks who help keep this culinary tradition alive”. ‘Fish Fry’ vendors will also be judged for the title of “Best Fish Fry” and receive the grand prize.
