Cabinet Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries Begin First Day with Orientation


Newly sworn-in Cabinet Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries are joined by Governor Jane Owen, Deputy Governor Hon. Franz Manderson and Cabinet Secretary Samuel Rose at an orientation this this morning at Government Admin Building.
Today (Wednesday, 7 May) marked the first official day in office for new Ministers of Cabinet and the elected Government who began their tenure with a comprehensive orientation on the work of Cayman Islands Government.

The orientation session, held at the Government Administration Building, included presentations by Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen and the Deputy Governor Honourable Franz Manderson, setting a collaborative tone for the new administration.
Senior Leaders from the Office of the Deputy Governor and Portfolio of the Civil Service provided in depth information to the Cabinet Ministers on how the Civil Service supports the effective delivery of government policies and public services.

Sending a strong signal of their commitment to good governance, the newly sworn-in government leaders emphasised the importance of engaging with the Civil Service before finalising ministerial portfolios. They reiterated that this approach underscores their dedication to informed decision-making and collaborative leadership from the outset.
