A three-acre property on Half Moon Bay in Antigua, once owned by late Rachel “Bunny” Lambert Mellon, is up for grabs for $25 million, according to its developer Half Moon Bay Antigua.

Mellon, an heiress to the Listerine mouthwash fortune who died in 2014 at 103, and her husband Paul Mellon, an art collector and philanthropist, began to assemble properties in Antigua in the 1950s.

To secure the spectacular view from their 27-acre island paradise, they also acquired the land on the other side of the bay, according to William Anderson, chief executive officer of Half Moon Bay Antigua, which is developing a 132-acre fully-integrated destination resort consisting of a five-star luxury hotel, branded residences, and oceanfront lots. The Mellons’ three-acre property lies in this greater development.

The three-acre property was acquired by Half Moon Bay Antigua in 2016 for an undisclosed amount. It is now up for sale, according the Half Moon Bay Antigua, though there is no listing for it.

The three-acre property consists of two lots owned by the Mellons and it occupies the very top of the peninsula and halfway to the bay, according to Mr. Anderson.

“It’s hard to find anything comparable to its prominence and history. And as far as I know, it is the most expensive piece of property in the Caribbean,” he said.

Pristine, flat beaches in Antigua have drawn many celebrities residents, including Oprah Winfrey, Eric Clapton, Giorgio Armani and Richard Branson.
