The Baking Bumblebees are the champions of the 2016 Child Month Cupcake Wars.

Team captain Alisha Kee along with teammates Adelaide Walton and Carmella Ylagan collected the Wendy Quinland trophy at an awards ceremony held on Thursday 23 June 2016 at St. Ignatius High School.

The young bakers showcased their skills during the Cupcake War held on Saturday 28 May at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. Competitors were challenged to create two cupcakes, one using fruit and the other diabetic friendly.

The Cupcake War was part of this year’s Child Month calendar. It was sponsored by the Youth Services Unit, Kiwanis Club, Caribbean Utilities Company, Department of Children and Family Services, Ministry of Tourism and Layman Scott Senior High School.
