A single evening performance of poetry reading at The Playhouse

AN EVENING OF READINGS LOGO_HORIZONTAL TEXTThe Cayman Drama Society has hosted all sorts of performances over its many years.  We have had our share of dramas, comedies, dance, musicals and music performances.  We have had story telling.  Now it is time for us to have readings!

An Evening of Readings is just that – a Prospect Playhouse performance where the “cast” will read to you from works they have personally selected.  You will hear classical and modern pieces.  You will hear drama, poetry, and black humour.

Our readers are:

Quincy Brown reading from Derek Walcott, the Caribbean’s Nobel Laureate

Jacoline Frank reading from a modern best seller

Mary Anne Kosa reading from Alice Munro, this year’s Nobel Laureate

Jerry Pilgrim reading from Damon Runyon, a‘30s American satirist

Fiona Pimentel reading from Jane Austen, an English classic

Gabrielle Wheaton reading from George Barnard Shaw, the Irish playwright

Something for everyone!

One of those is a complete short story.  The others are individual chapters or scene or fragments which are meant to entertain you now and encourage you to continue to enjoy that author or topic through your own readings.  The majority of these pieces are available at the Cayman Islands Public Library.  For the rest there is always your Kindle or iPad.

Our MC is Ramona Melody of the Cayman Islands Library System. Our Stage Manager is Bella Rooney.

Come, experience something new, be enchanted, be challenged, be entertained!

Suitable for all ages; admission is $10 for all.

…Tickets must be prepaid – no exceptions – have your card number ready…
