Looking in the mirror is the usual thing in the morning. It becomes challenging when you see messy hair, dark circles, puffy face. There are many days when you wake up in the morning and look like a monster. Then you have limited time to gather yourself to look presentable. This does not have to be that way. It can be prevented by following some useful tips to look good when you wake up.

GET RID OF YOUR MAKEUP

Ladies, when you are planning to go to your bed, it is recommended to wash your face and get rid of your lovely makeup. Makeup won’t do any good while you are sleeping. According to ASSITANT PROFESSOR AT YALE DEPARTMENT OF DERMATOLOGY MONA GAHARA,

“leaving makeup, sunscreen or smog residue on your face can lead to unwanted acne and even wrinkles.”

Mona recommends us to use a mild non-soap cleanser with a neutral pH before jumping onto the bed.

USE TEETH WHITENERS

The old days of using sticky strips to whiten your teeth are long gone. Just go with it and use products like Crest Night Effects. These products have been formulated for night time use. Use a little of it, paint it on your smile teeth and wake up with shiner teeth and whiter smile.

TACKLE YOUR HAIR

Your hair restraint tools are actually your best friends at night. Try some simple style like braided side pony tail before you go to sleep. Once in a week, some deep conditioning before you go to sleep. There is treatment named Frederic Fekkai’s Nightime Follicle Boosting Treatment that claims to energize the hair follicle with oxygen, marine glycogen, and caffeine while you sleep to stimulate the growth of thicker, fuller hair.

CHANGE YOUR SLEEPING STYLE

This tip could be a bad news for stomach sleepers. An average head weighs 7 to 8 pounds. If you are a stomach sleeper, you are putting a lot of pressure on your face every night. Sleeping with your face into the pillow feels good but it also causes wrinkles on your face. So, its time to be a back-sleeper or at least sleep on your side with a body pillow.

USE MOISTURE TO WAKE UP GLOWING

Use a moisturizer that contains a tanner and if you don’t have one, then mix a drop of self tanner in your night cream. A tanner will protect your skin and nothing will rub off when you sleep. An hour before bed is the best time to use moisturizing.
