A child trafficking survivor’s plea to the U.K. governmentA survivor of child trafficking in the U.K. is urgently calling on the government to scrap Part 5 of the controversial Nationality and Borders Bill that is due to be debated on Tuesday. Under Part 5, survivors will be obliged to disclose evidence of their exploitation within a fixed period of time and risk being unable to access the support they’re entitled to as a result of crimes they were forced to commit while being exploited.  Read more…

UN human rights chief due to update on efforts to assess situation in Uyghur Region
Pressure is building on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, to report on the systemic forced labor and other rights violations of Uyghurs in China’s Uyghur Region. The human rights chief has failed to secure an official visit to the Uyghur Region after years of negotiation with the Chinese government. Bachelet is due to issue an update to the Human Rights Council on Monday. Read more…
