GEORGE TOWN, 13th March 2025
The House of Parliament will once again host the fourth annual Women of ParliamentLuncheon on Friday, 14th March 2025, bringing together current and former female Parliamentarians and Clerks to celebrate leadership, reflect on progress, and discuss the future of women in politics.
This exclusive event, held in recognition of Honouring Women Month, aligns with this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” as set by the Cayman Islands Government. The theme serves as a call to advance gender equity and empower women to take on greater leadership roles within the political landscape.
Hosted by the Speaker, Hon. Sir Alden McLaughlin, the appreciation luncheon provides a unique forum for women leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue, exchange insights, and recognise the contributions of female lawmakers past and present.
“The Women of Parliament Luncheon is a moment to honour the pioneering women who have paved the way for future generations, while also reaffirming our commitment to accelerating progress for women in leadership,” said Mrs. Zena Merren-Chin, Clerk to the Parliament and Chief Officer of the Parliament Management Commission.
As a closed gathering, the Women of Parliament Luncheon serves as an occasion to recognise the dedication and resilience of Caymanian women who have served in Parliament and
continue to shape the nation’s future.
