3 Reasons to Have a “Resources” Page on Your Website

From Burke Franklin Business Black Belt

Under our web site Resources heading, we added a page entitled, “Supporting Products & Services.”

It’s one way I can demonstrate to those who promote my products and services to their clients that I reciprocate with them.

It sends them clients and gives them some Google / search engine juice. And we both generate a bit of extra cash!

Of course, I recommend only those with whom I have worked with myself, and like and trust.

Likewise, most of our customers come through word-of mouth from prior subscribers who love their results. Who better (and more credible) to recommend your products and services?!?

Why a “Resources” page
Call it whatever you want, but it’s a very simple and easy way help your friends and clients promote their products and services. It also creates the space to reciprocate to them for promoting you and your products and services.

It’s the start of, or foundation for, your own company “eco-system” extending your reach further out into the world with the help of friendly partners.

Also, when you refer to one of your supporting products at your next BBQ, rather than mentioning their web address, simply give them your own web address and refer them to the “[product name here]” on your Resources page.

(And have them look for the Business Power Tools offer that you have listed there! Click here to join our referral partner program. We pay 30%) ♥!

I can think of many examples of websites where a Resources page would be handy.

Funding Sources
For example, many people subscribe to our BizPlanBuilder business planning software template, usually to raise capital. We’ve listed several resources — one that can get you immediate cash is Platinum Financing Group. (If you’ve been getting calls from strangers offering “merchant cash advances,” do the math… there is a better way!) What if you could easily get $50,000 – $150,000 with a series of credit cards with 0% interest for a year+?

One of the emails in our post-purchase autoresponder sequence alerts you to our affiliate products and services that supplement our dashboard and your business:
Financing
Incorporation
Branding
Writing / Editing
Legal
And from time-to time I’ll send a special notice promoting these resources because you may just be looking for something like them and now you have a reference to products and services that you can trust because they come recommended by a known source.

You’ll notice on my Supporting Products & Services page that I write my own brief description of my own personal experience of the product or service being offered.

I’d certainly like to have Business Power Tools listed on your site with a personal recommendation like that!

Support your local Organizations
It’s a no-brainer for Chambers of Commerce and other membership organizations to list their members’ offers on their Resources page to generate non-dues revenue.

What if your Church had a “Resources” page on their website where
they listed businesses that paid a commission or ad fee?

IMHO, everyone should have a Resources page on their web sites with affiliates!

Is the easiest way to participate in “Word-of-Mouth” marketing.

Perfect for Coaches and Consultants
Because our Business Power Tools platform is popular with coaches and consultants, we even added an Expert Referral Network on our site to enable subscribers to find additional help with their business plans, employee policies, procedures, etc. We don’t charge for the listings, we just want our dashboard subscribers to get the help they need, while supporting our network of coaches and consultants. => Eco-system

Pay it forward… or Pre-reciprocate
When you ask for a testimonial for your own products and services and you already have your own testimonial for the other person’s products and services posted on your web site, you’re actually demonstrating that you are paying it forward (or “pre-reciprocating”(?) to their offer), demonstrating that you’re willing to promote them as much as you’re asking them to promote you.

Who doesn’t love that?!?

3 Reasons to Add a Resources Page to Your Website!
Extend support for your own products and services
Generate $$$ for all
Promote other great products and services
Bonus: Inspire others to link to you
That’s it for now.

All the best,
