2025 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition: Week 2 Review

St. Ignatius Catholic see off Footsteps School
Week two of play in the exciting 2025 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition continued this past Friday with a
number of games played across the Island.


Defending boy’s champions St. Ignatius Catholic showed why they may again be the team to beat this
year as they defeated newcomers Footsteps School 116 runs to 53 runs at the Smith Road Oval. In the
Zone B girl’s matchup, St. Ignatius Catholic downed the young ladies from Footsteps School 64 runs to
58 runs.


Results from the second day of competition included:
Zone A Girls:
Prospect Primary got past Red Bay Primary 64 runs to 63 runs, Island Primary A downed Joanna Clarke
Primary 33 runs to 31 runs and Edna Moyle Primary defeated Cayman Prep B 88 runs to 77 runs. The
game between Theoline L. McCoy Primary and East End Primary was postponed.


Zone B Girls:
Cayman International School beat Island Primary B 68 runs to 41 runs and Sir John A. Cumber Primary
defeated Marie Martin Primary 64 runs to 44 runs. The game between Cayman Academy and Cayman
Prep A was postponed.

Zone A Boys:
Prospect Primary blasted over a century of runs to down Red Bay Primary 125 runs to 80 runs, Island
Primary A got past Joanna Clarke Primary 96 runs to 93 runs and in a high-scoring encounter, Edna
Moyle Primary beat Cayman Prep B 108 runs to 93 runs. The game between Theoline L. McCoy Primary
and East End Primary was postponed.


Zone B Boys: Cayman International School downed Island Primary B 65 runs to 64 runs and Sir John A. Cumber
Primary got past Marie Martin Primary 65 runs to 53 runs. The game between Cayman Academy and
Cayman Prep A was postponed.

Round 3 of the 2025 season continues this Friday, May 16 with a full schedule of games including:
Zone A Girls and Boys: Red Bay Primary vs. Cayman Prep B (at Red Bay Primary), Joanna Clarke Primary
vs. Theoline L. McCoy Primary (at Joanna Clarke Primary), Prospect Primary vs. East End Primary (at
Prospect Primary) and Edna Moyle Primary vs. Island Primary A (at Edna Moyle Primary).
Zone B Girls and Boys: St. Ignatius Catholic vs. Island Primary B (at Smith Road Oval), Cayman Academy
vs. Footsteps School (at the Annex Field), Sir John A. Cumber Primary vs. Cayman International School
(at Sir John A. Cumber Primary) and Cayman Prep A vs. Marie Martin Primary (at the Annex Field).


The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education
Services, the Department of Sports and the Cayman Cricket Association and sponsored in part by
Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC).


Parents and supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer on our young cricketers.
