Two Cayman Islands footballers advance to final in Flow Skills Ultimate Football Experience

Two Cayman footballers, 15-year old Victor Thompson, Jr. and 13-year old Molly Kehoe, will be making their way to Trinidad after qualifying for the final of the Flow Skills 2018 Ultimate Football Experience this past weekend.  The pair prevailed over a group of their counterparts in the points-based competition put together by Flow and Manchester United Football Club, and will meet up with 28 other winners from 14 other Flow Caribbean markets.  That group will be coached and evaluated by two Manchester United Soccer School coaches, after which time two players will earn the ultimate VIP trip to Old Trafford Stadium in the United Kingdom, the home of Manchester United.
Thompson and Kehoe dribbled, short passed and played their way to victory under the watchful eyes of CIFA coaches Bernie Bush, Neil Murray, Martha Godet, Dion Brandon, Fabian Malcolm, Vincent Mitchell, Shakeina Bush and Marcos Tinoco who judged the young players on the different skills.  Mr. David Wight, Councillor for Sports and Tourism, as well as CIFA President Alfredo Whittaker were on hand to watch the action.
“As a huge football fan myself, I am so proud that Flow is giving Cayman’s footballers such an unique opportunity to learn important principles and techniques of the game from one of the best football clubs in the world as well as test their skills against other youngsters around the region,” said Dwayne Mellaneo, Manager, Flow Consumer Sales. “There is tremendous football potential here in the Cayman Islands, evidenced by what we saw on the field today. Flow is committed to supporting and nurturing the development of youth sports in these islands, and we wish Victor and Molly all the best in Trinidad.”
“I am pretty proud of making it in the 12 to 13 age group to represent Cayman at the Flow Skills talent development camp in Trinidad,” said Kehoe. “Already it’s been exciting competing in Cayman. The exposure to other players on a regional level is going to be quite good for me.”
Victor Thompson agreed.
“This is such a great opportunity to expand my football skills and play overseas. I did everything to the best of my ability, worked hard to get through the drills and moved fast.  Now, I am looking forward to experiencing the event in Trinidad,” he said.
Flow Skills Ultimate Football Experience is one of several Manchester United and Flow partnership initiatives.
Participating Flow markets are Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Turks & Caicos Islands.
