The very popular Martinique Gourmande Festival, the most expected annual culinary rendez-vous between Martinique and Québec is back in restaurants and bars of the Greater Montréal area from September 7th to 22nd. Québécois will be able to discover or rediscover the cuisine of the Island of Flowers, a subtle but powerful blend of French, African, Indian and Caribbean influences.

Those willing to take the experience further will be able to enter the Martinique Gourmande sweepstakes for a chance to win a gourmet trip for two to Martinique.

The Martinique Tourism Authority in Canada, which launched the festival in 2008, will host a press junket on Tuesday September 3rd, where journalists will be able to meet chefs and representatives from the participating establishments, as well as one special guest coming straight from the island.

We share this love of good food and a strong sense of friendliness. I’m happy to be able to help bring out our beautiful island of Martinique, its generosity and its savoir-faire,” says Ferdinand, who owns two restaurants in Martinique, Le Babaorum in Fort-de-France and Le Petibonum in Le Carbet.
