Wow! All those jobs going to be replaced by a computer disguised as a woman or even worse as a horrible robotic creature straight out of a sci fi movie.

When I spoke to Joan about it she was not sorry at all at their demise. She had to do it once when she was semi-retired.

She wrote, of course, a poem about it. Like always I leave the last word to my wife.

THE RECEPTIONIST

By Joan Wilson

Reception work bores me to tears

There’s nothing to do really but sit and stare,

No windows to look out to the beautiful sea

Or over the roads where traffic flows free.

*

Half hour for lunch is all I’m given

No time to eat is not my idea of heaven,

But, alas, I’m only part-time you see

So I’m off and out when the clock strikes three!

*

END
