Dr. Craig Handford

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; 9 October 2012:

Sports Psychologist, Dr. Craig Handford, made a whistle stop visit to Grand Cayman to talk to Cayman Swim Coaches. Dr. Handford, Head of Technical Development for British Volleyball, was conducting a series of clinics in Puerto Rico for Track & Field Coaches as part of his role as Manager for the IAAF Coaches Academy and was invited by Ian Armiger, his longtime friend and Cayman’s Technical Director for Swimming, to make a detour to Cayman before returning to the UK.

Coaches Katie Lambert, Andy Copley, Jessica Siegele, Dave Bolt and Caleb Miller were treated to a stimulating and informed discussion on Motivation, Athlete Development and related issues.

Technical Director, Ian Armiger said; “To have someone with Craig’s knowledge and experience talk to our coaches is highly beneficial for the overall development of our sport. This is a fine example of us seizing an opportunity for continued professional development.”
