SA business partners ride out Dorian searching for natural cures in Caribbean

By Joe Galli From NEWS4SA

SAN ANTONIO — Two San Antonio business partners rode out the early stages of Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean last week.

They were in the path of the storm looking for the next big herbal or natural element to add to CBD.

Business partners Jason Roberts and Mike Sanders of the Botanical Shoppe were in St. Vincent and the Grenadines while Tropical Storm Dorian was gaining strength.

“We actually rode it out there,” said Roberts.

“When a storm does hit, the town really comes together and they just start building right back up again,” said Sanders.

Once the sun started shining, they went on their mission to find the next herbal compound they can combine to CBD.

Some of the gardens on St. Vincent and the Grenadines are the oldest in the western hemisphere.

“It’s just the amount of rain and the soil, it’s a volcanic island, so the soil is so rich and dark and everything just grows,” Sanders said.

“We’re doing is we are going down there and finding remedies that have been passed from generation to generation,” Roberts said.

They’re looking to find natural compounds, which will directly target certain aliments.

The popularity of CBD can be seen on many street corners here in San Antonio.

Dr. Stancia Alvarez decided to try CBD for the first time today.

“I want to see for myself how good it is because my friend uses it and he recommended it so that’s what I’m here to do,” Alvarez said.

These business leaders aren’t the only ones testing CBD and other compounds.

The FDA announced this summer, it too is testing CBD products to make sure customers know what they are getting.
