Royal Caribbean cruise ships wants to hire you to travel the world and discover new experiences

Dream jobs don’t come much better than this: Royal Caribbean cruises is currently looking for an ‘apprentice’ who will travel the world and test extraordinary experiences. No catch.

The company has opened applications for its ‘Shore Explorer’ role, which is giving one person the chance to test the cruise line’s excursions for three weeks this summer – and the successful applicant will be paid £2,000 a week for the opportunity.

Royal Caribbean said it is looking for “an adrenaline junkie” who “has a unique ability to capture a moment and tell a story in a simple social media post”.

Basically, budding influencers – this is your time to shine.

The experiences that the winning applicant will get to enjoy include white water rafting in the Norwegian Fjords, riding the world’s longest zipline in Dubai and being the first to set foot on the company’s new private island in the Caribbean.

Even better, applications don’t require a lengthy cover letter or CV update – you just need to share your favourite travel experience in a picture or video on Instagram, Insta stories or IGTV and tag #ShoreExplorer and @RoyalCaribbeanUK.

The winner will be judged by The Vamps’ James McVey, Managing Director of Royal Caribbean Ben Bouldin, travel writer Nadia El Ferdaoussi and Russ Francis, the company’s ‘Instagrammer In Chief’ who was given the role after winning a similar competition two years ago.

Sounds too good to be true? It’s actually not. The only rules are that those applying for the role must be 21 or over, hold a valid passport and be able to travel this year. They’ll be flying between destinations and travelling solo, although they can pay for a plus one to join them.

Just working on my Insta-game, BRB.
