RCIPS advise of repeated thefts of tools around Grand Cayman

Police have received reports of the thefts of tools around Grand Cayman, including two reports last weekend. Tools were discovered to have been stolen from five locked containers in the Industrial Park area (off Sparky’s Drive), as well as from a location on Hirst Road in Bodden Town, on Sunday morning, 5 December.

The tools stolen range from power saws, a drill, tile cutters, a jack hammer and other items, and are primarily of the Bosch and Makita. The value of the stolen tools from last weekend is estimated to be a few thousand dollars.

Police urge members of the public to be cautious when purchasing secondhand goods and to inform police of anyone selling sizable quantities of used tools. Anyone with information is asked to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online at the link: https://www.tipsubmit.com/WebTips.aspx?AgencyID=681.
